I actually started knitting out of necessity. I was pregnant with my first child and she was going to be born in the middle of winter - and winters in Sweden are cold - so she needed a wool blanket. I was having a lot of pain with my pregnancy so I was basically spending every day on the couch playing Zelda with my partner. That gave me a lot of free time, so I picked up the materials needed for knitting and tried to remember what I learned in school a million years ago. Safe to say that first blanket didn't exactly turn out as planned. If that was due to my lack of skill or me paying more attention to Zelda than my stitches, we will never know, but that blanket sparked something in me. I have been knitting ever since and it didn't take long before I started designing and writing my own patterns.
